Hum of the Universe

Earth, water, fire, air and ether are the five cardinal elements that form the foundation of the entire cosmos. The universal law of life states that everything is composed of these five basic elements, known as the Panchatatva. This series is an ode to the five elements as ceramics cannot exist without their coming together. “The clay represents earth, it needs water to take its form, fire to gain strength, air to survive and the artist’s ether energy to give it life.”
